Michael Black

Founder

Michael Black was a passionate and innovative longline fisherman who began to segregate the best of the catch from each trip. He marketed his fresh product to the finest restaurants in South Florida and became known for its quality.

With his wife, Wendy Black by his side, he expanded from a box truck to a 12,000-square-foot facility. Known throughout the industry for his integrity and testimony to his Christian faith, he worked hard for the fishermen to ensure fair pay and believed “every fish had a home”. This commitment both in the US and internationally helped propel the great success and longevity of the Floribbean and where it is today. His legacy continues with his three children and ten grandchildren.
